ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, START!
May 11, 2024 – 10am to 11:30am

Join Clallam County Master Gardeners Jan Bartron, Bob Cain, Laurel Moulton, and Audreen Williams on Saturday, May 11 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Port Angeles Fifth Street Community Garden for the monthly “Second Saturday Garden Walk.”

The guides will point out what grows well on the North Olympic Peninsula, review what needs to be done in the vegetable garden and share control measures for common pests and diseases popping up in the garden now.

With our recent news of potential water shortages this summer a major focus the month will be on best water saving practices in the vegetable and fruit garden. Information on growing tomatoes well will also be discussed.

The monthly walks are free and open to the public.

The Fifth Street Community Garden is located at 328 E. Fifth Street in Port Angeles just off Peabody, right across from City Hall. The garden, developed on city property in 2011, includes over fifty 9×12-foot plots worked by local gardeners.
